Whether you are looking for a children’s summer camp, a comfortable retreat center, or a family campground, West Michigan Conference camps will exceed your expectations. We are committed to providing experiences that build lasting values for a fulfilling life  -faith, courage, cooperation, responsibility, honesty, and self-esteem- while enjoying the great outdoors and making new friends. Our camping ministry is part of our broader ministry of making disciples for Jesus Christ as we pursue our vision of "Each Alive in Christ, All Connected in Mission."

The West Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church offers camping opportunities through the Board of Christian Camping. The Board maintains the sites and assists in providing programs for campers of all ages. Each summer approximately 300 volunteers work together to staff camping experiences for more than 2,000 children, youth and adults. In addition, hundreds of people enjoy our facilities during family camps and weekend retreats.Camp directors develop camps and secure deans for each camping experience. Camp directors and deans recruit volunteer counselors who care for our campers and their programs during the week.

 OVERVIEW

West Michigan Camps provide a rich Christian education experience. Dedicated and trained counselors from churches in your own area help campers grow spiritually in a beautiful natural setting. Through Bible study, discussion and worship around the campfire, campers learn more about God and each other.

Most camps are held at one of the six campsites listed on this website. Off-site camps occur as listed. Each campsite has a director and staff to maintain the facility and provide meals for the campers.

All of the West Michigan Conference United Methodist Camps are licensed by the State of Michigan and are inspected each summer. We are pleased to co-operate with the state regulatory agency and are proud of our good reputation. You can read the state licensing rules and check out their list of licensed camps on their web site: Michigan Camp Licensing.

ADOPT A CABIN/CAMPSITE
A church or church group may adopt a cabin or campsite at any of the West Michigan Conference Campgrounds. When a church volunteers to repair and maintain a building or camping area, a plaque with the church name can be placed to recognize this service. Contact the Camp
Director to make arrangements.
