The Ron Fassett Fund for Justice

UM Metro Ministry of Greater Grand Rapids is pleased to announce the Official Launch of "The Ron Fassett Fund for Justice" at Metro's Annual Meeting, 6 pm on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at GR St. Paul's UMC, 3334 Breton Rd. SE.

Fittingly, November 10 is Ron's birthday, and St. Paul's UMC is the church from which he both began and concluded his ministry.

Former Metro Executive Director, the Rev. Barry Petrucci, will be the keynote speaker, sharing a message of Biblical justice and its impact throughout Ron's ministry.  Others who will be speaking briefly are:  Mike Marshall, Director of the Grand Rapids Area Service Project (GRASP); Don Williams for MFSA and the Rev. Kennetha Bigham-Tsai, Chair, Conference Board of Church and Society.

We are pleased that the folks at St. Paul's have agreed to prepare a hot, home-style meal.  We are suggesting a donation of $8.00 per person to cover the cost.  Metro will be leaving the donations with St. Paul's for their ministries.

An opportunity to make a donation to the Fassett Fund will be offered at the conclusion of the program.  Checks should be made out to "The West Michigan Conference Treasurer".  All donations are tax-deductible.  Additional information about the Fund can be found in the attached brochure.

There will be a break at about 7:45 pm when you may leave the gathering.  The Metro business meeting will follow the break, to conclude at 8:30 pm.

Please RSVP by Monday, November 9, 2009, by calling Metro at 616-245-6512 or by replying to Susan Hansen, susan@grmetroministry.org. Click here for Ron Fassett Fund for Justice Brochure.
