From Jane Ellen Johnson, pastor of Lansing Grace UMC: I would like to lift up two very exciting and challenging new ministries that have started at Grace this fall. We are now offering a praise worship service at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings. We have moved our more traditional service up fifteen minutes to 9:15 with opportunities for small groups and Christian education between services or during the week. Our new Christian education program, "Kids on the Move" for ages k-5 is in full swing using a rotation-like format. We have had more teachers volunteer for this new format than ever before! A concern, at Grace, is that many of our elders are experiencing some major health issues with long hospital stays and eventually becoming home bound. They are grieving the loss of community and the community is grieving their loss as well. Prayers are needed around this issue. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers and concerns.
